COSAI this year

Service: one of ARSA's 4 Guiding Principles.
Along with the members of the Council of Committees, COSAI is stepping up this year to fulfill its mandate to facilitate the Residence Halls community's awareness and engagement in socially relevant issues. It also strives to provide opportunities for the dormers to reach out to those outside Ateneo even in the midst of the academic rigor in the Loyola Schools.

Watch out, join, and support COSAI! Wouldn't it be great to say: COSAI-care! :)

Noy-Bi Inaugural

JUNE 30,2010
On this date, the Philippine starts anew.

Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Cojuangco Aquino, III
15th President of the Republic of the Philippines

              Jejomar "Jojo" Cabauatan Binay
              Vice-president of the Philippines

As much as we have our reservations regarding the elected leaders for term 2010-2016, we must not falter in our support for the Philippine nation. They are but leaders, in-charge of 10% of any change we want to see happen in the country. We are the rest of the 90%.

For today, whether or not we are in the yellow camp, let us raise our hopes and prayers for our leaders. Let us give them a chance to serve us but remain vigilant all the way!

President Noynoy & Vice-President Jejomar, congratulations from the ARSA community!

Flagship Preview

his is a pre-launch announcement for COSAI's flagship project this year:

THE ARSA-COSAI CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROJECT

 in partnership with
WORLD VISION DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION

 How does it work?
It works by linking a child to an individual/group giving a monthly pledge of P600/child, giving poor children access to education, health care and values formation. It is also a sustainable way of helping their families and communities overcome poverty through livelihood and community development initiatives!

As a sponsor, an individual/employee/group will receive correspondence and updates through:
PICTURE FOLDER [assigned child's ID picture and brief profile]

INTRODUCTORY LETTER upon sign-up [written personally by the child]

ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORT [child updates including photo]
CHRISTMAS CARDS/THANK YOU CARDS upon graduation

COSAI would like to ask your sincere support in this project! The community we will be sponsoring is situated in CAVITE (arrangements are still being made). This, by the way, is one of World Vision's biggest sponsorships-partnership. ARSA will try to pool in 200 pledges (200 children sponsorships) this year!

Since we know the sponsorship fee might be a bit expensive for most to afford on an individual basis, we have made the arrangements with World Vision to allow a group pledge - several people (not more than 4) can pool in their contributions to make a total of 600 per month - that's 150php per person. However, individual pledges would be highly appreciated! The sponsorship period will run from July 2010 to March 2011.

No one will be forced to participate, but COSAI wold like to knock on the hearts of everyone. We are not just going to be giving out money to strangers, we are helping children (who we will personally be in correspondence with) and their families build a sustainable future in their respective communities. It will mean a big difference in their lives just us our own stay in Ateneo has! So what do you say? 150 pesos a month would just be like foregoing a venti cup at Starbucks!

We are informing you ahead so you can think about it.If you need to ask permission from your parents/guardians, please do so they may also be aware of your participation and contribution! More of this will be announced during the ARSA GA on July 7! Stay tuned!

If you are interested, please inform us initially by email: arsa.cosai@gmail.com

Sincerely yours,
Your fellow dormers,

Camille Tacastacas & Carlie Labaria
